EPS, OBS, WBS means?

EPS (Enterprise Project Structures):- This is Hierarchal structure that identifies the company wide projects and enables organizing and management of those projects.

This is first step to distribution of work according to the Project.

OBS (Organisational Breakdown Structure):- It represents management responsible at the EPS/ Project. Each Manager in the OBS is associated with our area of the EPS.

WBS (Work Breakdown Structure):- Each Project in the EPS has its own WBS. A WBS is a hierachial arrangement of product and services produced during and by a project. Project in the highest level while an individualized activity is the lowest level.

Primavera Web Application

Primavera Web Application provides browser based access to project, portfolio and resources data across the organisation. Every web user can create customized dashboard that provide an individualized and focused view of the specific projects and categories of project data that are most relevant to their role in managing project portfolios, projects and resources.

Project workspaces and workgroup extend the model of customizable, focused data view by enabling designated project team member to create a uniform team view of data that related to one specific project or to a subset of activities within a project.

Time Sheet

Primavera provide a Web based inter project communication and timekeeping system.
Timesheets helps team member focus on the work at hand with a simple cross project to-do list of their upcoming assignments. It also provide views of project changes and timecard for manager approval. Because team member use this module to enter upto the minute information about their assignment and record time against their workloads, project leader can make crucial project decision with the confidence that they have the most current information possible.

Methodology Management

In this module system for authoring and storing methodologies or project plan template, in a central location. Project manager can select, combine, and tailor methodologies to create custom project plans. These customized methodologies can be imported into the project management module using the project Architect wizard and used as a templates for new projects.

In this way, organization can continually improve and refine methodology activities, estimates and other information with each new project.

Project Management

It is a multiuser, multi project system with scheduling and resource controlling capabilities supporting multi tiered hierarchies, resource scheduling with a focus on roles and skills, recording of a actual data, customizable view, and user definable data.

It is ideal for organization that need to simultaneously manage multiple project and support multiuser access across a department or the entire organisation. Project Management Concepts -

Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. It is sometimes conflated with program management, however technically a program is actually a higher level construct: a group of related and somehow interdependent projects.

Like any human undertaking, projects need to be performed and delivered under certain constraints. Traditionally, these constraints have been listed as "scope," "time," and "cost".These are also referred to as the "Project Management Triangle,"

where each side represents a constraint. One side of the triangle cannot be changed without affecting the others. A further refinement of the constraints separates product "quality" or "performance" from scope, and turns quality into a fourth constraint.

1) The time constraint refers to the amount of time available to complete a project.

2) The cost constraint refers to the budgeted amount available for the project.

Dear followers,

I am writing on Primavera software Currently I am working in Konkan Railway Corporation limited in PMIS system.

The different modules in Primavera.

1) Primavera Contract Management.: It includes all information about work progress on actual site. In Konkan Railway there are many subcontractors. The head office need daily information on actual site. Generate report on Contract Management from Concerned Project manager on the site.

The big project have many Project Managers for different work. Upload report on CM and end user in the Head Office can check.
